A fragile porcelin child of yours
I pushed past your guiding love
And into the embrace of darkness I jumped
Without a thought to you above.
Hurt and broken I cried to you
“God, I’ve fallen on my face.”
And Lord, beautiful Lord you picked me up
Wrapping me in your healing embrace.
Tirelessly you pieced my broken life together
With such undeserving care
The depth of your love holds me together
As now, I draw near.
I weep of the scars which etch my body
Speaking of the mistakes I’ve made
But you wipe my tears and gently whisper
“They speak of the grace I gave.”
“My child the extent of my love
You may never entirely comprehend
But it is the cracks and chips upon your life
Which say the most in the end.”
“Seeping through the weakenesses are
My love, my light which shines in you
Dear child, you are all the more precious
For the careful work I’ve done in you.”
